T(h)inker this thought…

There’s a million things you, your body, does, without a thought. And then there are those you think to do and others you think you do.

We fret and fume, over missing a train, and chide ourselves for not having thought to leave on time. Yet we don’t pause to celebrate the wound that healed magically, the waste disposed off timely and the heart that beats well, regularly. It was the same “you” who missed the clock striking ten that caused you to miss the train and so is your heart – the very same you that beats 60 times a minute like a clock, for as long as you tock. Yet we think about the thoughts that make us do the things we do and nary give a thought to things you don’t have to think to do.

Take for instance a single cell dividing into two, in you. It’s so magical! Something that happens a million times in your body .. like right now as you read this. Chromosomes have to unravel for polymerases to latch on them so DNA can duplicate, and the cell proliferate. With uncanny precision. In you. By you. Your cells. Every single moment. And you neither control it and nor do you orchestrate it.

What you think you do on a daily basis pales in comparison to what you do unthinkingly every single day, every single moment.

  • let that sink in for a moment.

Thoughts are just the tippy tip of the conscious you, the superfluous that when when overfilled peep out. Is there such a thing as conscious thought and unconscious thought? We’ll never know unless we pierce the veil of consciousness.
